The old AS 6 Depreciation Accounting has been replaced with AS 10 Property, Plant and Equipment. Hence this update is important for CA CPT students who are going to appear for June 2017 exams.
ICAI has revised the contents of Chapter 5 of Depreciation Accounting in the Study Material of Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting in line with the new Accounting Standard.
Therefore, students who are studying from Nov. 2015 or earlier edition of study material are required to follow the updated study material regarding this chapter.
